Itinerary

Day 1: Trek to Las Torres lookout; Refugio Torres Central

We begin at 7:30am with a pickup from your lodging in Puerto Natales. The transfer takes us along remote gravel roads into Torres del Paine National Park. Along the way, we’ll stop to admire herds of guanacos, shy grey foxes, and lagoons teeming with flamingos and black-necked swans.

Upon entering the park, we start our first hike: the trail to the base of the Towers. The path follows the Ascencio River into a dramatic glacial valley. An hour into the hike, we pause to admire native beech forests, cascading waterfalls and glacial cirques before continuing deeper into the valley.

A final ascent over a massive moraine brings us to the base—three colossal granite spires rising above a turquoise glacial lagoon. At 900m, this is one of Patagonia’s most iconic viewpoints. We’ll enjoy lunch here, surrounded by vertical stone walls and wind-sculpted terrain.  After soaking in the view, we descend the same trail to our campsite at Refugio Las Torres.

Private transfer: 2hrs

Length of hike: 8–10hrs, 21km / 13 Mi

Meals: Picnic lunch, dinner

Accommodation: Camping at Refugio Las Torres

Day 2: Trek to Seron; Seron Campsite

Rise early to witness the Towers lit in gold and orange, weather permitting. Then we set off through an ancient deciduous beech forest where you might spot Magellanic woodpeckers or even puma tracks in the soft earth.

The trail follows a gentle incline and opens to panoramic views of the Paine Chico massif in the distance. As we push further, the landscape softens, and we begin to approach the northeastern section of the park—quieter, more remote, and teeming with wildlife.

Our destination is the peaceful Serón campsite, nestled beside the Paine River. We'll set up camp here, share a warm meal, and rest in preparation for tomorrow’s longer hike.

Length of hike: 4–5hrs, 13km / 8 Mi

Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner

Accommodation: Serón Campsite

Day 3: Trek to Dickson; Dickson Campsite

Today is a more relaxed segment of the trek, especially appealing to plant lovers. Depending on the season, you’ll walk through fields of wild orchids, bright calceolarias, Patagonian violets and oxalis carpeting the trail.

We follow a fairly flat route along the northern edge of Lake Paine, with views of jagged peaks including Cerro Escudo and Cabeza del Indio—named for the profile of a face seen in the stone.

As we continue, we trace the origins of the Paine River and, just beyond, glimpse the icy turquoise of Dickson Lake and the white gleam of Cerro Cubo. Tonight’s camp sits in a magical spot beneath glaciers and alpine peaks.

Length of hike: 6–7hrs, 18.5km / 11.5 Mi

Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner

Accommodation: Dickson Campsite

Day 4: Trek to Los Perros River; Los Perros Campsite

Today we enter one of the most pristine and untouched corners of Torres del Paine. The trail rises and falls as we weave through some of the park’s oldest beech forests. Views of rugged peaks, snow-dusted ridgelines, and gushing waterfalls are constant companions.

We cross a swaying hanging bridge over the Los Perros River to reach a glacial lagoon, created by a dramatic hanging glacier crashing into a basin of crystalline water.  Just beyond lies the Los Perros campsite—remote, wild, and simple. This is the most basic site of the entire circuit, but its setting is unforgettable.

Length of hike: 5hrs, 13km / 8 Mi

Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner

Accommodation: Los Perros Campsite

Day 5: Trek to Grey Glacier; Grey Camp

This is the most demanding day of the journey—and arguably the most exhilarating. We begin by hiking through tangled forest and muddy stretches before climbing to the John Gardner Pass at 1,200 meters above sea level.

From the top, the view explodes into a panorama of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field and the vast, jagged Grey Glacier—an ocean of fractured blue ice pouring down the valley. Few places on Earth match this spectacle.

We descend along an undulating path lined with fallen trees and thick lenga woods. Towering granite walls of the Cordon Olguín rise beside us. With luck, we’ll see ice thunder off the glacier's front wall into Grey Lake before reaching our stunning beachside campsite.

Length of hike: 10–11hrs, 17km / 10.5 Mi

Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner

Accommodation: Grey Beach Camp

Day 6: Trek to Lake Pehoé; Paine Grande Campsite / Free morning or optional activity

Enjoy a relaxed morning at Grey Camp, watching for ice calving from the glacier’s immense face. Or choose to explore with optional excursions like kayaking among floating icebergs or hiking on the glacier itself.

Kayak: Paddle for 2.5 hours around the massive bergs calved from Grey Glacier. You'll receive all equipment and training from specialist guides.

Ice hike: This 5-hour excursion begins with a safety briefing and boat transfer, followed by a short hike to the glacier's edge. Gear—including crampons, helmet and harness—is provided. You’ll need your own hiking boots, gloves and sunglasses.

After lunch at the refugio, we hike to Lake Pehoé and our camp at Paine Grande—gateway to the French Valley.

Length of hike: 3.5hrs, 11 km /  6.8 Mi

Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner

Accommodation: Paine Grande Campsite

Day 7: Trek the French Valley; Puerto Natales

Today’s journey takes you deep into the heart of the Paine Massif, on one of the most awe-inspiring and challenging treks in Patagonia.
After breakfast, collect your box lunch at the refugio and set out on a winding trail that leads to the French River, an invigorating hike. As you enter the French Valley, the landscape transforms into a dramatic glacial amphitheater. Towering peaks, jagged ridgelines, and suspended glaciers surround you, while massive boulders mark the way forward. Here, the wild calls of native birds echo across the valley and the sound of rushing meltwater reminds you of nature’s relentless rhythm.

The climb continues through a surreal, almost otherworldly forest that feels like a Japanese garden sculpted by the wind and time. After an hour’s ascent, you’ll reach the Plateau, an unforgettable lookout that offers a panoramic vista of granite spires and cascading glaciers. To one side, the colossal Paine Grande (3,050 m) and the shimmering French Glacier; to the other, the iconic silhouettes of La Espada, La Hoja, La Máscara, and the distinctive horns of Los Cuernos.

In the upper valley, Mt. Catedral and Mt. Fortaleza stand like ancient watchtowers over this enchanted land.
We’ll have lunch at the viewpoint, taking in a final, breathtaking dose of Patagonia’s untamed beauty. As we descend toward the shimmering waters of Lake Pehoé, the journey draws to a close with a scenic catamaran ride, one last voyage across this wild frontier, before we return to Puerto Natales, hearts full and spirits forever changed.

Length of hike: 7–8hrs, 21km /  13 Mi

Catamaran: 35 minutes

Transfer: 2hrs

Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch
