Itinerary

Day 1: Trek to Laguna de los Tres; Poincenot Comfort Camp

Our journey begins with a 30-minute transfer to the trailhead at Hostería El Pilar. From there, we set off toward the majestic Fitz Roy massif, hiking through lenga forests to reach Poincenot Camp, where we'll spend our first night.

After dropping off your overnight gear, you’ll ascend 400 meters to the famous Laguna de los Tres viewpoint at 1,160 meters — the most iconic spot to admire Mount Fitz Roy in its full glory.

Return to Poincenot Camp for dinner and overnight.

Length of hike: 7hrs, 11km

Meals: Box lunch, dinner

Accommodation: Poincenot Comfort Camp

Day 2: Trek to the Masetri viewpoint; Cerro Torre campsite

After breakfast and a few last pictures of Fitz Roy, we begin a gentle trail through the scenic Mother and Daughter Lakes, eventually entering the mythical Cerro Torre valley.

It’s a relatively easy day, taking about five hours to reach Cerro Torre campsite. After a hot drink and leaving our overnight gear, we continue to Laguna Torre and then climb a little further to reach the dramatic Maestri viewpoint.

Return to the campsite for the night.

Length of hike: 7hrs, 8km

Meals: Breakfast, box lunch, dinner

Accommodation: Cerro Torre campsite

From this day on, everyone must carry their own sleeping bag and assist with basic camp setup unless porter services are requested.

Day 3: Trek to the Agachonas Pass; Laguna Toro campsite

After breakfast and packing up, we head toward Lake Torre and cross the Fitz Roy River via zipline. Once across, the trail ascends through lush forest and rocky terrain, eventually leading us to the spectacular Agachonas Pass — one of the best panoramic spots in the valley.

From the pass, we descend into the vast Túnel River valley, with magnificent views of the glacier and Mount Solo. Our route leads westward to tonight’s camp at Laguna Toro.

Length of hike: 9hrs, 13km

Meals: Breakfast, box lunch, dinner

Accommodation: Laguna Toro campsite

Day 4: Trek to the Viento Pass; Paso del Viento campsite

We start the day by crossing the River Túnel via zipline or wading, depending on water levels. The trail then climbs steadily up along imposing moraines toward the windy Viento Pass, offering a breathtaking view of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field.

As the name suggests, be prepared for strong Patagonian winds. After reaching the pass, we descend the western slopes to our riverside camp at Paso del Viento — a peaceful spot to rest and recharge.

Length of hike: 8hrs, 16km

Meals: Breakfast, box lunch, dinner

Accommodation: Paso del Viento campsite

Day 5: Trek to the Huemul Pass; Bahia de Los Tempanos campsite

Today we follow a trail that traces the edge of Glacier Viedma, with continuous glacier views and a string of sparkling alpine lakes along the way. After lunch, the climb to Huemul Pass begins — a challenging ascent with possible condor sightings overhead.

At the summit, we take time to rest before beginning the long forested descent to our final wilderness camp at Bahía de los Témpanos (Bay of the Icebergs).

Length of hike: 7-8hrs, 18km

Meals: Breakfast, box lunch, dinner

Accommodation: Bahia de los Tempanos campsite

Day 6: Trek to Bahia Túnel; El Chaltén

After breakfast, take in your last views of Glacier Viedma — you might even witness icebergs calving into the bay. Then we begin an easy hike to Bahía Túnel, where our vehicle will be waiting to transfer us back to El Chaltén.

Length of hike: 6hrs, 15km

Meals: Breakfast, box lunch
