Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Torres del Paine – Hike to the Base of the Towers Lookout

Start your journey early at the Puerto Natales bus terminal, where the 7:00 a.m. departure takes you across striking Patagonian scenery to the park entrance at Laguna Amarga. There, register with CONAF and take a shuttle to the Las Torres Visitor Center. After checking in at Cerro Paine Reserve and walking 5 minutes to Torre Central, check into your accommodation.

The trek begins through Ascencio Valley, surrounded by lenga forest and glacial streams. The final climb leads over a massive moraine of boulders until you reach one of Patagonia’s most famous lookouts—Base Torres—at 900 m.a.s.l., facing three towering granite spires and a vibrant glacial lagoon below.  This surreal amphitheater of stone and sky is your reward. Here you’ll linger over lunch and take it all in before returning to the Refugio for a hearty dinner and restful night.

The trail passes through narrow valleys and winds up to Laguna Los Patos. As you gain elevation, enjoy views of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field and floating icebergs in Lake Grey. After a windy viewpoint, descend through a forested section to Refugio Grey.

If time allows, walk 10 minutes further to the Grey Glacier viewpoint, a stunning spot to appreciate the glacier’s immense face. Dinner is served at the refuge between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m.

Optional 1: From Grey Refuge, embark on an unforgettable 2.5-hour kayaking adventure through the majestic landscapes of Patagonia, where you'll glide silently among towering, electric-blue icebergs that have recently calved from the glacier’s imposing wall. As you paddle through these surreal waters, you'll be surrounded by the raw beauty of the wilderness—pristine skies, shimmering reflections, and perhaps even the call of native birds echoing across the ice.
Before setting out, a specialist guide will provide a comprehensive safety briefing, introducing you to the kayak, paddling techniques, and the day’s route and conditions. You'll be fully equipped with high-quality gear including a neoprene suit, waterproof jacket, gloves, boots, kayak skirt, and life vest—ensuring you're warm, safe, and ready to embrace the elements.
Advance booking and payment are required—please refer to the 'Additional Notes' section for more details.

Optional 2: For the bold, a thrilling ice hike on Glacier Grey awaits: boat across the lake, hike to the glacier, and then—with ice axe, crampons, and harness—walk across ancient blue ice under expert guidance.
Optional 3: For a panoramic view, take on a 3–4 hrs round trip past the refuge toward the hanging bridges. See ravines and ice calving from the glacier’s wall.

Day 4: French Valley – Catamaran – Return to Puerto Natales

After breakfast, collect your box lunch and set off early for the grand finale of your Patagonian journey, a full-day trek into the very heart of the Paine Massif. The trail skirts the deep blue waters of Lake Skottsberg, gradually drawing you toward

Campamento Italiano and the gateway to one of the most awe-inspiring valleys on Earth.  From here, ascend through whispering lenga forests and over ancient boulders, as jagged peaks begin to emerge on all sides. Step by step, the landscape transforms into a cathedral of stone and ice—the French Valley. At the famed "Plateau," pause in silence as the world unfolds around you: avalanches cascade from the fractured face of Paine Grande, the dark spires of Los Cuernos pierce the sky, and glacial waterfalls tumble from granite cliffs.

With glaciers creaking, wind rushing, and condors soaring above, this is nature’s symphony—wild, immense, and eternal. Enjoy your final lunch surrounded by this grandeur, a moment to etch into memory.

Retrace your steps along the same trail to Paine Grande. At 5:30 p.m., board the catamaran one last time across Lake Pehoé’s turquoise waters, then travel back by bus to Puerto Natales. You’ll arrive around 9:30 p.m., tired but transformed—your heart marked forever by the soul of Patagonia.
