The day begins at 7:00am with a pickup from your hotel in Puerto Natales. Your guide and transfer team take you north on rugged roads, passing open pampas, turquoise lagoons, and the wildlife of the region: herds of guanacos, grey foxes, black-necked swans, and pink-hued flamingos.
On arrival at Torres del Paine National Park, you'll board a catamaran that glides across the shimmering waters of Lake Pehoé to reach your starting point. Today’s round-trip hike leads you into the heart of the French Valley, where hanging glaciers pour from jagged peaks into a sweeping natural amphitheater.
The trail gradually climbs into an alpine wonderland—a Japanese garden of twisted roots, stone steps, and lichen-covered forest. At the viewpoint known as the Plateau, you’re encircled by the granite giants of the Paine Massif: On one side is the French Glacier and Paine Grande (3050m); while on the other, La Espada, La Hoja, La Máscara, and the main and north 'horns' of Los Cuernos arch upwards. In the upper section of the valley, Mt Catedral and Mt Fortaleza loom like turrets above the landscape. Take your time to enjoy lunch with a view.
You descend via the same trail, take the return catamaran, and travel by van to Serrano Camp. There, a welcome dinner awaits inside a cozy dining dome, before you settle in to your private luxury tent beside the rushing Serrano River.
